Boeing has been awarded a $7.4 million modification contract for Phase III KC-46 tanker/receiver aerial refueling airplane simulator qualification data collection study.
This effort allows for a study to collect and deliver data to assist with the building of the KC-46 simulator. Work is expected to be completed by June 30, 2020, US department of Defense said in a statement Monday.
The KC-46A is a multirole tanker that is designed to refuel all allied and coalition military aircraft compatible with international aerial refueling procedures and can carry passengers, cargo and patients.
