French aircraft manufacturer, Dassault Aviation is eyeing to build its business aircraft, Falcon 2000 in India under the Indian Prime Minister’s flagship ‘Make in India’ program.

Building the Falcon 2000 planes in India would cut costs while ensuring quality and execution that meets standards, Chief Executive Officer Eric Trappier was quoted by Bloomberg as saying on the sidelines of the National Business Aviation Association’s annual conference in Las Vegas Tuesday.

The move will also give the company a competitive edge, he said, without elaborating. “We really want to do something which is a real industrial cooperation in India,” Trappier said. “We are starting a big partnership.”

Dassault wants to deepen its ties in India after it won a contract to supply 36 fighter aircraft last year.

The worldwide Falcon support network includes company owned MRO complexes in Little Rock, Arkansas, Reno, Nevada, Wilmington, Delaware and Sorocaba, Brazil, in addition to those in Mérignac and Le Bourget; 45 regional authorized service centers; 16 spare parts depots; and the FalconResponse portfolio of Aircraft on Ground Services.

Falcon 2000 is twin-engine business jet developed from Falcon 900 trijet.
