Indonesia ordered the two SIGMA 10514 frigates from DSNS in 2012. The ships were built in Indonesia by PT PAL in collaboration with DSNS. DSNS’ had transferred technology to PT-PAL, such as key infrastructure, expertise and human resources training.

The lead ship, the KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata, was commissioned into the TNI-AL fleet in April. In terms of armaments, the PKR-class is configured with a Leonardo 76/62 Super Rapid gun, MBDA VL-MICA surface-to-air missile (SAM), MBDA Exocet MM40 Block-3 anti-ship missiles (AShM) and 324 mm ASW torpedoes.
