Ukrianian company, UZDF Ukrinmash is in talks with an unnamed Middle-Eastern country to develop a new medium-range military short-off and landing tactical transport aircraft, the An-77 based on the existing An-70.

The An-70 was displayed at the Dubai Air show last week where it received many inquiries from representatives in the region, a UZDF Ukrinmash release said today.

Representatives of the Middle East country were already interested in this aircraft, when they inspected the An-70 in Kiev, and invited to show it at the Dubai Airshow 2017, it said.

Taking into account the fact that in 2015, the An-70 was accepted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, modernization of this aircraft is one of the most important tasks that will significantly increase the mobility and combat capability of Ukrainian defenders and expand the export potential of the state.
