Armtec to Supply Six Chaff Countermeasure Cartridges for $33.7 Million

Armtec has won $33.7 million three-year contract for the manufacture of six different Chaff cartridges used in radar countermeasures in support of the Airborne Expendable Countermeasure program.

Work is expected to be completed by June 2021, the US department of defense said in a statement Monday.

Radar countermeasure chaff is dispensed by aircraft to decoy radar-seeking missiles. Chaffs offer reliability, multiple broadband frequency protection,  operational radar cross section and a rapid bloom with minimal birds-nesting.
