Kongsberg has received $65.5 million order from Lockheed Martin for deliveries of more than 150 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft structural parts.
The order consists of deliveries of aircraft structural parts in the form of Rudders and Vertical Leading Edges for the LRIP 11 production Lot and represents a continuation of previous orders for F-35, where Kongsberg has delivered parts since the LRIP 3 production Lot, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
Currently under development in three versions by Lockheed, the F-35 JSF is a fifth-generation multirole fighter aircraft designed to conduct an array of ground attack, reconnaissance and air defence missions with stealth capability.
The variants include a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) aircraft for the US and allied air forces, a short take-off and landing (STOVL) fighter for the US Marine Corps (USMC) and the Royal Navy, and a carrier version (CV) for the US Navy.
