Eyeing a possible sale of fighter jets to Poland, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) performed an aerial display with its JF-17 Thunder aircraft during the opening day of Radom International Airshow at Radom-Sakdu Airport, Poland on Sunday.

Painted in the colour scheme of Pakistan’s national flag, the JF-17 roared in the skies of Poland . The aerobatics included the muscle climb, thunder turns, slow speed performance and inverted flight, Pakistani media reported.

Air Marshal Arshad Malik, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was also present to witness the aerial and static display of JF-17 Thunder, which has been co-developed by Pakistan and China.

The JF-17 was on static display along with the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft.

Poland is the market to replace its MiG-29 fighter jets with the United States’ F-16 among the main contenders. The Pakistani-Chinese JF-17 jet and the Super Mushak trainer are being increasingly offered as a package.

It is not yet known if Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has made a formal offer to Poland or the display was to get Poland other former Soviet-bloc countries interested in the JF-17 which reportedly costs less than half the price of a current-generation F-16.
