Lockheed Martin is expected to receive more than $2 billion in federal funding as part of the 2019 fiscal year's Defense Appropriations bill for two helicopter programs.
The bill includes an approximate $1.1 billion for the CRH Combat Rescue helicopter program and about $894 million for the VH-92 Presidential Helicopter Replacement program, United States Senator Charles Schumer was quoted as saying by WBNG web portal Wednesday.
Both helicopters are constructed in Owego.
The CRH Combat Rescue helicopter is used to get troops out of dangerous situations and bring them to safety, while the VH-92 Presidential Helicopter transports the United States President.
The bill already passed in the Senate and is expected to pass the House in the coming weeks.
