Russia today detailed the delivery schedule of the S-400 Triumf Air Defence System to India under which the first of the five systems will arrive in the autumn of 2020 and the last by spring of 2023.

Under the contract concluded in New Delhi on October 5 Russia is to supply to India five regimental sets of S-400 systems, each consisting of a regimental command center and two battalions of launchers (eight in each battalion), TASS said quoting a ‘military-diplomatic’ source.

In the autumn of 2020 Russia is to provide the first regimental set. Another one will follow in 2021. Then it will supply the third, fourth and fifth sets. The delivery of the last one will be completed in the spring of 2023, the source said.

"Russia will provide to India five regimental sets of S-400 within the tightest deadlines, in just two years and six months." The source confirmed that the value of the contract with India was $5.43 billion.

"This is precisely the surplus of Rosoboronexport’s firm contracts after the conclusion of the deal with India," the source said.

The director of the Russian federal service for military-technical cooperation, Dmitry Shugayev, had told journalists yesterday during Airshow China that he foresees no problems with production of S-400 Triumf to meet the tight deadline for India, as the industrial potential of the Almaz-Antey concern allows for coping with all contracts on time.
