Elbit Systems, Leonardo to Develop Torpedo Capability for Seagull USV
Seagull USV

Elbit Systems and Leonardo will together develop Leonardo’s lightweight and mini torpedoes launching capabilities of Seagull USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel).

The solution will be based on the same architecture used for airborne torpedo launching systems, the company said in a statement Thursday.

According to the company website, Seagull is a multi-role USV capable of conducting Mine Counter-Measures (MCM) involving the detection, categorisation, localisation, recognition and neutralisation of seabed, tied up and floating naval mines. It can be deployed in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), electronic warfare (EW), maritime security and hydrography missions.
