Oshkosh Wins $74M US Army Contract For New-gen Medium Tactical Vehicles

Oshkosh Defense has won a $74 million worth contract to procure Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles variants for the US Army.

“Oshkosh Defense LLC, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was awarded a $74,189,379 modification (P00004) to contract W56HZV-18-F-0153 for procurement of Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles variants,” the Department of defense announced Friday.

Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2021. Fiscal 2019 other procurement, Army funds in the amount of $74,189,379 were obligated at the time of the award, the release added.

The Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles is the U.S. Army’s primary set of strategically deployable vehicles that perform general resupply, ammunition resupply, maintenance and recovery, and engineer support missions. The FMTV also serves as a weapon system platform for combat, combat support, and combat service support units in a tactical environment.

Oshkosh has manufactured and sustained more than 150,000 tactical wheeled vehicles for the U.S. Defense Department and its allies and has delivered more than 36,000 FMTV trucks and trailers, according to the company.
