Russian engineers have equipped the Armata heavy armored vehicles with lavatories to provide comforts to the crew on long combat missions.
"Armored tanks have provision for the crew to remain inside for longer durations with food and water supplies. However, the tanks lacked washrooms for the soldiers to relieve themselves. With the addition of toilets, the Armata infantry vehicles tank enables the crew to perform lengthy combat missions,” TASS quoted Ilya Baranov, Director for Quality and Information Technologies at the Urals Design Bureau of Transport Machine-Building as saying Thursday.
The T-14 Armata is a Russian 5th generation main battle tank based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform. The tank is operated by a three-member crew from an armored capsule at the front. The tank’s armament includes a 7.62mm remote-control machine gun and 125mm smoothbore cannon. An unmanned version of the Armata is planned and is currently in development.
