Iran conducted drone drills involving Moe than fifty combat drones over Persian waters, on Thursday.
Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) organised the exercise employing 50 domestically-built versions of Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drones and other combat drones, according to Mehr News Agency.
The target of the drones is about 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) from the operation zone from where they took off.
Earlier this month, Iran started mass-production of the Kaman-12 combat drone.
The country had even launched a cruise missile from submarine for the first time during the annual three-day long "Velayat-97" military drill in the Strait of Hormuz held last month.
The manoeuvres covered a total area of 2 million square kilometres across the Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
