Ukraine has established its fourth Naval Forces base in Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region, located northwest of the Black sea, reports Dumskaya news outlet.

The first three bases are in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Berdyansk.

The Ukrainian government decided to relocate four units of the Ukrainian Navy from Odesa to Ochakiv base. Mid-size landing ship Yuri Olefirenko, Korets tugboat, artillery boats AKA-02 and Rivne will be transferred to Ochakiv. Previously Olefirenko was part of the 5th brigade in Mykolaiv, UA Wire reported Thursday.

In the summer of 2017, the US Navy reported that US naval construction battalions began the construction of the operational fleet management center for the Ukrainian Navy in Ochakiv.
