Qatar has awarded Raytheon two direct commercial sales contracts worth $2.2 Billion combined to supply Doha with AMRAAM-Extended Range missile, National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAM), and additional Patriot fire units.
The contracts, worth approximately $2.2 billion include NASAM, AMRAAM-Er missile, and an unspecified quantity of additional Patriot fire units. These awards are part of a larger agreement being pursued by the Qataris with the US government. The combined value is expected to total up to $3B, the company announced Wednesday.
With the contract being signed, Qatar has become the first country to acquire the AMRAAM-Er surface-to-air extended-range missiles.
