Israel-based Aeronautics has won a contract worth $10 million to supply its Orbiter 2 and Orbiter 3 UAV to an unnamed South American country.
The contract includes providing maintenance and support services of the drones, Globes reported Tuesday.
The company signed a $8 million contract with an Asian country to supply Orbiter 3 drones about two weeks ago.
The Orbiter 2 has an endurance of 4 hours and operational range of 80 kilometers. Payload capacity is 1.5 kg. The Orbiter 3’s operational range is 100 kilometers and capable of flying for seven hours. A special launcher is used for Orbiter 3, which has a quiet electric engine that gives it the ability to perform secret missions. It lands using a parachute and an air cushion.
