The United States (US) army has awarded Boeing a $155 million modification contract for new-build Apache AH-64E attack helicopters, Pentagon announced Tuesday.

The AH-64Es, also known as Apaches, are helicopters that typically carry AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods. They have four blades and are rotary-winged.

Work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2022.
