Memorandum with France and Germany for Sustainment of Tigre Helicopter

The Council of Ministers has authorized the Ministry of Defense, or whomever it designates, to award the contract mentioned in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between France, Germany and Spain for the maintenance of the Tigre helicopter.>> At the same time, it also approved the related payments for a total amount of 155 million euros, divided into seven annual payments between 2009 and 2015.>>> France, Germany and Spain signed an administrative cooperation agreement in 2004 for the acquisition of the Tigre helicopter. Subsequently, in December 2006, France and Germany signed another administrative agreement in which they agreed to cooperate to sustain the Tigre during its service life; this is the agreement to which Spain has now subscribed for the period 2009 to 2015.>> The maintenance of the fleet of Tigre helicopters will be undertaken with OCCAR, the same organization with which Spain contracted its acquisition.>> -ends->>
