Low Flying Su-57 Stealth Jet creates Sensation at MAKS 2019

A rooftop-kissing Su-57 stealth fighter jet of Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) created a sensation during the late afternoon hours of August 29 when it flew close to buildings at the venue of the MAKS air show in Zhukovsky near Moscow.

Coming into land after a spectacular flying demonstration, the jet, one of three prototypes flying at the event, took a turn towards the offices of leading aerospace firms which are placed parallel to the runway and flew close to rooftop level near the UAC chalet.

It immediately accelerated hard climbing to dizzying height soon after and disappeared for a moment into the haze of the setting sun before resuming its aerobatics and finally landing on the runway.

Stunned visitors and others scattered upon seeing the jet so close to the ground accompanied by deafening noise of the accelerating engines but recovered soon after to loud applause indicating high praise for the jet and the pilot.

Defenseworld.net’s correspondent was at hand to record this amazing event on camera. It could not be ascertained if the pilot flew so low as part of a planned maneuver or missed the runway. The landing gear being down certainly leaves room for some circumspection.

The Su-57 is considered the pinnacle of Russian aerospace design combining high speed, incredible maneuverability and stealth to create a fighter jet to suit a wide variety of roles. The MAKS-2019 event was the launch platform for the Jet’s export version, the Su-57E.
