The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the completion of debugging process of the navy’s oceanographic research vessel named “Admiral Vladimirsky,” on Tuesday.
Repair and modernization of the boat was conducted at Kronstadt Marine Plant.
“All systems and mechanisms were debugged on the vessel including the propulsion system, life support systems, radio engineering and hydrographic equipment, communication and navigation systems,” the MoD said.
The ship has currently embarked on sea trial at Baltic Sea where performance of onboard life support systems and radio equipment will be evaluated. Tests of the Admiral Vladimirsky will go on until November 18, after which it will go on a large Antarctic research expedition.
