Bechtel Plant Machinery has won three of the United States Navy’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program contracts worth $1.43 billion combined.
The modification contracts, each of which is valued at $913.5million, $483.7 million and $31.8 million, calls for the procurement of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Components, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Friday.
The Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program is a joint Department of Energy/Department of Navy organization which is tasked with the responsibility to design, build, operate, maintain and manage the nuclear-powered warships and facilities which support the US nuclear-powered Naval fleet.
Work will be performed in Monroeville, Pennsylvania (66%); and Schenectady, New York (34%).
