Turkish Aerospace Inaugurates First Office in Pakistan

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has set up a new office in Pakistan, weeks after Islamabad hosted a Turkish defense exhibition on its soil for the first time.

"We have launched our new office at Pakistan's National Science & Technology Park. It is great to be the first Turkish Defense Industry company at Technopark in Pakistan," TAI said in a Twitter post.

In October, Islamabad hosted "5th Defense Port Turkey" that saw both countries showcasing military equipment including ammunition, artillery, tanks, heavy-duty trucks, tanks, soon after India cut down its defense exports to Turkey amid growing Turkey-Pakistan relations.

This year, Turkey surpassed the United States to become Pakistan’s second biggest arms supplier, after China.

In mid-2019, Pakistan managed to avoid being placed on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) blacklist following support from Turkey, China and Malaysia. The FATF charter mandates support of at least three member states to avoid the blacklisting.
