Turkish defense firm, ASELSAN, has signed a new sales contract for the supply of remote-controlled weapons station to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This is the Turkish firms’s second contract for the RCWS in less than a month. ASELSAN had announced its sale to a NATO country on April 14.

The sale to the Kingdom of Bahrain will be for mounting on its naval ships, an announcement posted on the Turkish firm’s Twitter account said.

Aselsan calls its RCWS as Stabilized Advanced Remote Weapon Platform-SARP which can be integrated onto tactical vehicles, fixed surveillance posts, towers and critical infrastructures. SARP can be equipped with 12.7mm machine gun, 40mm automatic grenade launcher or 7.62mm machine gun.

This is the first application of  the RCWS-SARP system on a naval vessel.
