The Pentagon awarded Lockheed Martin a $1 billion modification contract to procure PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missiles for the US military and seven allied nations.
The missiles will be sent under the Foreign Military Sales program to the US Army besides Bahrain, Germany, Poland, Qatar, Romania, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“Lockheed Martin was awarded a $1.04 billion modification contract for incidental services, hardware, facilities, equipment, and all technical, planning, management, manufacturing, and testing efforts to produce Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target (PATRIOT) Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missiles,” the Pentagon said in a release Wednesday.
The $1 billion modification means an additional order to the previously awarded $6 billion order in April for PAC-3 missiles.
Work is estimated to be completed by 31 October 2024.
