IAF Inducts Five Rafale Jets

The Indian Air Force (IAF) today formally inducted five fourth-generation French-built birds, Rafale jets, at Ambala Air Base.

The induction ceremony was attended by Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence Parly.

The aircraft will be part of 17 Squadron, the “Golden Arrows.” They are part of a 36 aircraft deal which India has signed with Dassault Aviation, France. The deal includes weapons such as Scalp and Meteor missiles. As part of the deal Dassualt will set up depot-level maintenance.
