Russian firm Developing Ammunition to Outsmart Electronic Countermeasures

Russia’s Techmash has developed a new software for ammunition to enable it to hit targets in conditions of electronic warfare.

The main feature of the complex is a new electronic protection system, which allows obtaining detailed information about targets in conditions of active interference with varying intensity. The new product is intended for use in high-precision ammunition for defensive and offensive weapon systems, Rostec announced Wednesday.

“Ammunition of a new generation with the function of artificial intelligence is the most effective means of destruction in the conditions of modern combat. One of the key tasks of the developers is to make the 'smart' stuffing invulnerable to electronic warfare. The new complex surpasses Russian and foreign counterparts in terms of the protection of ammunition from interference and nullifies the efficiency of the electronic warfare equipment," said Bekkhan Ozdoev, industrial director of Rostec State Corporation.

The complex was developed by the Novosibirsk Scientific Research Institute of Electronic Devices, a leading domestic enterprise specializing in the creation of short range radar systems and avionics for ammunition.
