UAE to Procure Binocular Night Vision Devices from L3 Technologies

The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) will buy binocular night vision devices and accessories from American firm L3 Technologies.

The contract valued $13.15 million was announced by the U.S. Department of Defense Tuesday.

Work will be performed in Londonderry, New Hampshire, with an estimated completion date of November 8, 2021.

The UAE's choice of night vision goggles is the L3Harris Binocular Night Vision Device (BNVD)-1531. 

The BNVD-1531 incorporates features such as adjustable diopters, manual gain adjustment, individually rotating monoculars and an integrated infrared illuminator. The 1531 can be operated as a helmet-mounted, head-mounted or handheld system and is field maintainable with limited equipment.
