First Serially Produced Su-57 Jet Delivered to Russian MoD

The first serially produced Su-57 has been rolled out from the hangar of a test center in Russia’s Akhtubinsk Air Base.

The stealthy fifth generation jet will be handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense soon, state-owned Zvezda reported today.

The aircraft bearing serial number 01 was rolled out of the test center this morning.

Later, A tweet put out by the official handle of UAC said, "The first serial Su-57 fighter has been delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense within the framework of a state contract for the 76 aircraft."

A video accompanying the tweet showed a Su-57 emerging out of a hanger and its manufacturing process.

The video showed the aircraft powerup and take off.

The government of Khabarovsk Territory (where the Sukhoi manufacturing plant is based) stated few days ago that the MoD would receive five Su-57 jets this year.

The Su-57 was developed by the Sukhoi company (part of the UAC) and is produced at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KnAAZ). This jet designed to destroy all types of air targets in long-range and close-range battles, defeat ground and surface targets of the enemy and overcome air defense systems. Its maiden flight took place on January 29, 2010.
