A Ka-52 Alligator helicopter launched 22 upgraded Kalashnikov Vihr missiles in a test overlooked by the Air Force.
Kalashnikov enhanced the missile’s accuracy in a short-range launch and its flight stability. All improvements were made without changing the missile’s tactical and technical characteristics, the company said.
The tests conducted proved that development re-works initiated and independently conducted by Kalashnikov are successful.
Prior to that Vihr’s ability to engage a target at an increased distance of up to 10 km was assessed which also exceeds the missile`s basic tactical and technical characteristics.
Vihr can attain a speed of 610 m/s at altitudes betweem 10-4000m. It has a range of 800-10,000m. The thickness of reactive armour this new warhead can penetrate is 0-75m.
