Royal Thai Marine Corps Receive VN16 NORINCO Amphibious Tanks

China’s NORINCO recently reportedly delivered three VN-16 light amphibious tanks to the Royal Thai Marine Corps.

The tank, an export version of the LPT ZTD-05, was delivered to the Sattahip naval base at the end of May.

Thailand signed a contract for the Norinco vehicles worth $13 million in September 2020.

VN-16, is a direct-fire version of Norinco’s ZTD-05 amphibious assault vehicle. It is fitted with a turret armed with a 105 mm rifled gun, 7.62 mm co-axial machine gun, and banks of 76 mm grenade launchers.
