Turkish firm Roketsan has developed an anti-radar missile called "Akbaba" ("Vulture") to potentially replace the Raytheon-made AGM-88 HARM (high-speed anti-radar missile) for the indigenous TF-X fighter and other possible applications.

These missiles will replace about one hundred AGM-88 HARM (high-speed anti-radar missile) with a range of 150 km) which are in service with the Turkish Air Force, a section of the Turkish media reported.

The program for its creation is classified, therefore, this product is not mentioned in the list of products on the Roketsan website. A company spokesperson was  quoted in the local media as saying that the program to develop the Akbaba missile was classified.

An Air Force spokesman said Akbaba would be used by Squadron 151 specializing in deploying the AGM-88 HARM missile from the F-16C / D.
