India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced Wednesday that its HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft completed spin certification flight testing.
"HTT-40 completes spin certification flight testing. It has already demonstrated ten turn spins and ready for operational clearance," the company posted on its official Twitter account.
During Aero India 2021, HAL received a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for 70 HTT40s. The RFP is for 70 aircraft with additional clause for 38 more.
The HTT40 can be used for basic flying training, aerobatics, instrument flying, navigation, night flying and practise close formation. It has a maximum take-off weight of 2800kg, can attain speed of 450kmph and has a range of 1000km.
