Israel to Develop Land Surveillance System for Cyprus

SIBAT, the International Defense Cooperation Directorate at Israel's Ministry of Defense (IMOD), has agreed to develop a land surveillance system for Cyprus.

The agreement was signed when Director of SIBAT Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas visited Cyprus on Thursday. The two parties discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense and security,Cyprus ministry of defense said in a statement.

The Israel Ministry of Defense said that the new system will be developed by Elbit Systems. "The head of the Defense Export Assistance Division at the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Koles, signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Cyprus in Nicosia for the establishment of perimeter defense, monitoring and control systems," the ministry added.
