Boeing Wins $50M QF-16 Aerial Target Aircraft Deal

The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a contract worth nearly $50 million for QF-16 aircraft.

As per the Pentagon, this contract calls for QF-16 Production Lot 6 Block 25 and Block 30 Unique Material for Drone Peculiar Equipment Package, program integration support, production line support material and warranty for drone peculiar equipment lay-in material.

Work is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025.

The QF-16 Full Scale Aerial Target will provide the next generation of combat training and testing for U.S. warfighters. Retired F-16 aircraft are converted into QF-16 aerial targets for the purpose of testing newly developed weapons and tactics. The QF-16 will replace the existing QF-4 fleet, and provide a higher capability, fourth generation aerial target that is more representative of today’s targets and threats.
