Ukroboronprom’s Odessa Plant Repairs Modernized L-39M Aircraft

Odessa Aviation Plant State Enterprise, a subsidiary of Ukraine’s state-owned Ukroboronprom has repaired modernized L-39M aircraft and organized two successful air trials.

During the upgrade, specialists of the enterprise installed a modern on-board training complex on the L-39M, which brings the aircraft cockpit information field as close as possible to the information field of combat fighters and attack aircraft. The hardware and software parts of the complex are manufactured in Ukraine within the framework of the import substitution program.

The use of the L-39M allows practicing pilot actions in actual flight, under supervision of the instructor -- restoring and maintaining the skills for intercepting air targets and working on ground targets, and combat algorithms. This significantly saves money, combat airplane age and boosts safety of air training safety.

The repaired aircraft is one of three, upgraded earlier to the level of L-39M in close cooperation with national co-contractors at Odessa Aviation Plant.
