The Russian Helicopters holding has increased the flight range of the Ansat and Ansat-M helicopters by 140 kilometers by installing an additional tank.
The conventional version of the aircraft will now be able to fly up to 645 kilometers while the modernized version can fly up to 780 kilometers, state-owned Rostec said in a release.
The obtained certificate of the Federal Air Transport Agency allows the Kazan Helicopter Plant to install a 195-liter dop tank not only on new machines, but also on those in operation after minor modifications. It will be possible to equip both passenger and sanitary versions of the Ansat with the device.
At the moment, certification tests of the main Ansat-M fuel system have been carried out, which have confirmed the declared flight range of 640 kilometers.
Ansat is a light twin-engine multipurpose helicopter, serial production of which has been launched at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. According to the certificate, the design of the helicopter allows it to be quickly transformed into both cargo and passenger versions with the ability to carry up to seven people. In May 2015, an addendum to the type certificate was received for the modification of a helicopter with a medical module.
