Croatia to Buy 89 Bradley M2A2 Vehicles from U.S.

Croatia has agreed to purchase 89 Bradley vehicles from the United States for an estimated $196 million as part of a plan to form an infantry brigade to aid NATO.

The country is expected to formally endorse the deal at a session on January 27. The plan was announced by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Wednesday. Plenkovic said the price includes an American donation of $51 million.

Croatia has been negotiating the purchase of Bradley M2A2 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) since 2017. The U.S. State Department approved a possible foreign military sale of approximately $757 million that involves modernizing 76 M2A2 Operation Desert Storm (ODS) Bradley IFVs.

As part of the new deal, Croatia will receive 62 fully equipped and armed versions of the armored vehicles plus another 22 for reserve parts and five training vehicles.

First of these IFVs will start arriving in Croatia in 2023. They will be service in the country in the future.
