The Navy of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) received new smart sub-surface vessels along with missiles and speedboats.
The new equipment were handed over to the IRGC’s naval forces during a ceremony in Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on March 15, Iranian state-owned media reported.
“With the addition today of smart sub-surface vessels, the geometrical structure of the IRGC Navy’s power was completed: surface, above-the-surface, sub-surface, and land vehicles,” commented IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami.
Iran claims its new speedboat features high maneuverability and is capable of traveling at up to 95 knots. They can also carry and fire various missiles and rockets.
The IRGC was also furnished with new maneuverable missiles, whose range has been increased and can be used in electronic warfare.
