Russia fired a record 70 missiles on targets across Ukraine, on March 26 with only a few of them hitting the intended target.

"On March 26, Russia fired a record number of missiles on the territory of Ukraine,” The Insider reported based on information sources. “Fifty-two missiles were fired from Black Sea Fleet warships in Sevastopol and at least 18 – from Belarus," the report said.

Some reports said several cruise missiles were shot down in the sky indicating that Ukraine has recently acquired an ability to bring down cruise missiles during their terminal phase.

Previous reports said Russian missiles are failing to explode at an alarming rate. This could the result of lax quality control due to the haste to get them to the war front.

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky said Russian troops launched two missile strikes on an oil depot and defense plant in Lviv. Fires broke out at both sites. Five people were injured.

On March 26, high-precision air-launched long-range weapons destroyed a large fuel base near the city of Lviv, which provided fuel to Ukrainian troops in the western regions of Ukraine, as well as near Kiev, said Igor Konashenkov, an official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"High-precision cruise missiles in the city of Lviv destroyed the workshops of the Lviv Radio Repair Plant. This enterprise carried out major repairs and modernization of anti-aircraft missile systems ‘Thor’ and S-125, radar stations for the Air Force of Ukraine, electronic warfare equipment and sights for tanks," he said at a briefing on Sunday.

"High-precision sea-based long-range weapons destroyed a warehouse of missiles for S-300 and Buk anti-aircraft missile systems in the village of Plesetske, 30km south-west of the city of Kyiv," Konashenkov said.
