Ukraine’s military completely destroy a Russian Army T-72 tank using a Javelin missile.
“The T-72 battle tank of the Russian army was completely smashed by the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Zakarpattia Brigade. Neither active defense, nor the so-called ‘brazier’ (bars welded on the top) helped it against the Javelin portable anti-tank missile system,” the Land Forces of Ukraine said in a statement on Telegram.
After being hit with the missile, the tank ammunition detonated, and its turret exploded. Three tank crew members were killed in the attack, the military claimed.
The Javelin is one of the world's most effective anti-tank weapons. It has a long range of 2.5km, which makes them effective in a combat situation. This missile also targets tanks from above, hitting where the armor is at its weakest.
As per reports, the Pentagon has plans to accelerate production of Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and Javelin anti-tank missiles. The U.S. is reportedly sending 500 Stinger and 500 Javelin missiles to Kyiv daily.
