The Ukrainian military has so far lost 407 drones including the famed Turkey-made Bayraktar TB2 in the ongoing battle with Russia.
Russia claims to have destroyed over ten Bayraktar drones, of which only three have been confirmed. Pentagon’s assistance package to Ukraine announced recently includes laser-guided rocket systems that could equip Ukraine’s Bayraktars, which may now be running short of missiles.
In a regular press briefing Wednesday, Igor Konashenkov, Russian defense ministry spokesman said Russian troops hit 24 Ukrainian military targets at night. “Among them: the Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system, five logistics depots, as well as 11 strongholds and areas of concentration of military equipment of Ukrainian troops," Konashenkov said.
Konashenkov added that Russian air defense systems shot down four drones flying over Berdyansk, Gornyak, Uvanskoye and Chernobaevka.
"In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 125 aircraft, 93 helicopters, 407 unmanned aerial vehicles, 227 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1981 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 215 multiple rocket launchers, 854 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 1882 units of special military vehicles," the spokesman added.
30 Russian missiles, aircraft downed in a week: Ukraine
Ukraine’s Air Command Center said in a Facebook post that over 30 Russian air targets had been shot down in a week. In the intervening night between April 4 and 5, Ukraine’s Air Forces intercepted cruise missiles fired from Russian Su-35 jets.
