France’s Direction générale de l'armement (DGA) has ordered more Jaguar and Griffon armored vehicles from the EBMR consortium between Nexter, Arquus, and Thales.
The order covers supply of 88 Jaguar 6×6 armored reconnaissance vehicles and 302 Griffon 6×6 véhicule blindé multi-rôle (VBMR) heavy multirole armored vehicles under the SCORPION program to renew the medium-tonnage segment of the French Army’s armored vehicle fleet, the companies said in a joint press release.
This new order will bring the number of JAGUAR and GRIFFON vehicles ordered to 150 and 909 respectively, in line with the target laid out in France’s 2019–25 Military Programming Law. The conditional tranche 4 (TC4) award comes shortly after an order was placed for 54 GRIFFON MEPAC versions, which are equipped with a 120-mm mortar, with deliveries scheduled from 2024.
