Russian Forces Destroyed 51 Units of Foreign Military Equipment in Ukraine

Russian forces have destroyed 51 units of foreign military equipment in Ukraine including 12 armored vehicles, 21 155-mm howitzers, two Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) and 16 UAV over the past 10 days, according to Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu.

The minister, who was speaking yesterday about the “intermediate results of the special military operation,” said his forces have captured some 6489 Ukrainian servicemen, Interfax reported without specifying the location where the minister made the announcement.

In recent days, Russian forces have focused on the detection and destruction of equipment supplied by the US and its NATO allies

As of the beginning of June, the United States supplied Ukraine with weapons and military equipment worth more than $4 billion, according to the data of the US Congress. Kyiv has received more than 6.5 thousand Javelin portable anti-tank missile systems and 20 thousand AT-4 grenade launchers to combat light armored targets, over 1.4 thousand portable anti-aircraft Stinger missile systems, 108 M777 howitzers and 220 thousand shells for them. Most recently, the US has supplied Ukraine with four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, 121 Phoenix Ghost tactical strike drones, and another 700 Switchblade kamikaze drones.

Kyiv also received from Washington more than 200 M113 armored personnel carriers, several hundred Humvee armored SUVs, 20 Soviet-made Mi-17 multipurpose helicopters, 7,200 firearms and 50 million rounds of ammunition. The Pentagon also handed over to Ukraine three AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radars and a large number of other non-lethal weapons.

According to reports, most of the weapons were delivered using heavy transport aircraft, to the Polish city of Rzeszow, located 90 km from the border with Ukraine.
