The Department of National Defense (DND) of the Philippines has placed an order for two Landing Platform Docks (LPDs) built by state-owned PT PAL Indonesia on Friday.
The company built two Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) landing docks for the Philippine Navy few years ago.
The newly-ordered warships will be constructed at Surabaya. The ships are planned to have a length of 123m and a height of 21m, weighing 7,200 tons, and with a cruising endurance of 30 days.
