Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has bagged an order to supply six T129 attack helicopters to Nigeria.

Temel Kotil, TAI General Manager, has confirmed the purchase. He also revealed information on other African contracts the company won: Hurkus trainer jets to Niger and Chad.

TAI is producing T129s under a license from the Italian-British firm AgustaWestland.

The company had earlier sold six T129s to the Philippines for $269 million, of which two have already been delivered. The remaining four will be handed over to the Philippine military next year.
