Lockheed Martin has won a contract valued $524 million to support Italy’s F-35 combat aircraft.
This modification increases the ceiling to procure long-lead time materials, parts, components, and effort for the production of seven Lot 15 F-35A aircraft, two Lot 15 F-35B aircraft, seven Lot 16 F-35A, and two Lot 16 F-35B aircraft for the government of Italy, the Pentagon said in a release today.
Work is expected to be completed in June 2025.
Italy has ordered 60 F-35A and 30 F-35B jets. It has so far taken delivery of 12 aircraft.
