Six former Dutch F-16s from Leeuwarden air base have left for Jordan. The aircraft, all two-seaters, were sold by the Ministry of Defence in 2007 because of budget cutbacks. Over the previous weeks, the fighters were technically prepared for the transfer in the Woensdrecht logistical centre. Technicians from Jordan were present during those activities. Over the previous days, several acceptance flights were carried out at Leeuwarden under the responsibility of Dutch aviators. Jordanian pilots flew in the back seat. The aircraft will be flown today by Jordanian pilots to their new base close to Amman.
