BAE Systems said it received contract awards worth around $6.3 billion combined to work on new and advanced weapons such as the Tempest project to create an all-new sixth-generation fighter aircraft.

The UK Ministry of Defence awarded BAE Systems £656 million last month on behalf of British defence firms; Leonardo UK, MBDA UK and Rolls-Royce, to progress the design and development of the stealthy Tempest jet.
Meanwhile, the $491 million deal for F-35 Block 4 electronic warfare systems will cover significantly upgraded hardware and software that improves sensing and signal-processing capabilities. New, high-performance sensors will boost the system’s ability to detect difficult-to-observe threats and more threats simultaneously.
