Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has developed a low-visibility paint for the country’s KAAN fighter jet that reduces radar signature by 97%.
The KAAN combat jet, developed under the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Program, is preparing for its first flight test.
A success level of 97% was achieved in the low-visibility paint developed at TAI facilities for the KAAN fighter, SavunmaSanayiiiST reported.
TAI is trying to increase this rate and to use this paint in other products. TAI also started its activities to provide the absorption of paint technology in other material types to be used on the surface.
The low-visibility paint has a damping material technology against radar in order to reduce electromagnetic transmittance. It is a technology used in new generation aircraft that allows platforms not to be caught by the radar or to appear very small in size.
