Ukraine’s forces have reportedly received Mi-8 transport helicopters from Croatia.
A photo capturing one of the Croatian aircraft was published on the UkrAirForce Telegram channel.
The transfer of Mi-8s from Croatia was announced in November 2022. The delivery could have completed in May.
Croatia planned to transfer 14 helicopters: twelve Mi-8MTV-1 and two Mi-8T, which were withdrawn from its armed forces. All helicopters were first supposed to arrive in Poland, from where they were planned to be transported to Ukraine.
In May, nine helicopters arrived in Ukraine, and another five were partially disassembled and transported by land transport.
Mi-8 can carry out landings from the air, transport personnel, evacuate the wounded, and supply the troops with ammunition and other means.
